Our History - A Legacy of Community Care

In 2010, a small number of residents and professionals came together with the common goal of building support for people and families with loved ones facing death. They were motivated by the idea that quality of life doesn’t have to be abandoned even in the face of death. Knowing a hospice is more than bricks and mortar, they developed a community-based solution. The people involved nurtured this belief, and in May 2011 established the Airdrie and District Hospice Society. Over the past ten years plus, the Society has continued to evolve. Donors and volunteers make it possible for the Society to keep up with the growing needs of people in Airdrie and throughout the District. Our mission is alive through your support.

We need your support.

COVID-19 has had a major impact on how we function at Airdrie and District Hospice Society. Without your support, we may not be able to continue serving the community. With that in mind, please consider donating to our cause, so we can ensure that those with life-limiting illnesses can be surrounded by family and friends as they continue their life path to its end.
